My name is Atmani Chahid and I’m 17 years old. I study at the American School of Ifrane for the third year in a row. This year is my last year as a student here as I am a senior. I came to this school 3 years ago as a 14 year old studying in the tenth grade. Moving here was a big step for me as I had studied in The Netherlands and Belgium before I joined this school. I was born and raised in The Netherlands, but I am a proud Moroccan by heart and mentality. As I said, I came here 3 years ago, I transferred from Belgium, which was a big step for me, as I wasn’t familiar with this kind of school system (American), and also because my English wasn’t the best. I did improve over the past couple of years, so that’s definitely one of my major achievements. So far I have had no trouble here, I never really thought I’d like it here, which turned out to be the exact opposite. This won’t be the case for too long anymore, as I am finishing my studies abroad after this year.
