Hello
My name is Ismael Aakouk, and I am 16 years old. I’m a senior at Al Akhawayn School of Ifrane. I wish to in the future become a cardiac surgeon. I have always been highly interested in the sciences and this career can give me self-actualization, and a purpose out of my human condition. Helping people is also one of my greatest passions. I believe humanity makes history and we are the engines of our own progress, and we must do the best in our ability to systematically improve the human condition.
There are many things I value, but the ones I respect most are hard work, dedication and ambition. I also value other things such as respect, honesty and loyalty. I believe that everyone has a right to address their opinions within reason. Impractical ideas should not be given time, especially in objective scientific matters. If a person’s ideas are not good, it should be addressed and the person shown the correct path. I believe that everyone has the right to live their life as they wish, as long as they do not cause harm to anyone or their community. When we took the personality test, I got the “Commander” personality (ENTJ). I think this is an accurate description of me, I hope the People can listen to me, I want nothing more than their success, independence, and happiness.
I believe the senior project is an excellent opportunity to combine both entrepreneurial creativity and energy, teamwork, and community service. The project I want to do is to provide heating for the disadvantaged school of Zaouia (in collaboration with AUI’s Green City Project), in a renewable and sustainable way. We can also beautify the village aesthetically, and promote not just the material part of our project but also the social and cultural aspects of our project. The Zaouia area is poor and there is limited employment opportunity and if we can help push forward the project and give life to the village then we will truly have an impact on real people, and solve real problems instead of on paper.
