Celebrations and Decisions…
Last week, the Senior Class of 2018 organized an event that meant a lot to them: Eid Al Mawlid! This event was done in order to set a tradition of people celebrating a Muslim Eid with the AUI & ASI community. Effort was clearly seen throughout this event because a professional Andaloussi band came from Fez, a Henna stand was open throughout the whole event, and traditional sweets as well as tea was served. Mothers came and had a blast: dancing, singing along, as well as zaghareet. This event was overall a success, and we are glad that that was the case. Right after this event, there was a break, so our Thursday meeting was cancelled seeing that most of us were not in Ifrane (we were celebrating Eid Al Mawlid with our families and loved ones). On Monday we came back and discussed the event and thought of a possible upcoming event seeing that the trimester is approaching its end. We decided on a Cultural Evening, but we are still waiting for teachers’ responses.
On Friday, Mrs. Eddouks joined (she was sick so she was not able to attend the Monday meeting). We updated her on our joined decision, but seeing that we still did not get all of the teachers responses, we are thinking of having a plan B or an alternative to the Cultural evening.
The discussion on Friday quickly shifted to focus on the senior trip. Regarding the trip Mouataz and Marouane will have a presentation prepared for the rest of the class to see on Monday. During the conversation all ideas popped up regarding the trip where the destination has been challenged and new destinations were brought up as well as the dates of the trip, but the boys will address all of these points with their presentation. One thing that is for sure is that on Spring Break, going on the trip would not be possible because of the Volleyball Tournament as well as the SAT test taking place during the break as well.
On Monday, if there is still time, Nouhaila will also be having a presentation where she will present 2 people who dealt with the same project we are involved in, and one of them came from the same entourage we live in since she was an AUI student. Their experience will be fun to hear!
