On the 23rd of November , the senior class visited the Tarmilat School with Ms. Eddouks to find out more information about the school and the steps it will take us to support them. We brought bananas, water, yogurt, and petit pain for the kids to have breakfast together. The director of the school came so we wanted to sit down with him and discuss some questions we had in mind. We sat down with him in one of the houses nearby where we were served tea and melwi by Mrs. Itto.
We were a little bit fascinated about some of the answers of the director since he opened up the discussion by “how much money do you have” and all along the discussion, he tried to avoid some questions. We went back to the school to see the students and introduce ourselves, but we weren’t supposed to stay with them or take pictures inside. We entered the classroom and the teacher invited us to stay and watch the kids study. Ms. Eddouks was focused with the students and started participating as well, but we had to leave because the director said we can’t stay for longer.
The senior class took pictures of the kids and the school which you can check out in the senior class Facebook page. We also interviewed students and asked them about their current school and what they wanted to change. We found out that some of our information’s were wrong such as the student had food 4 times a week. In the week end, we had the chance to meet with Ms. Nabila, the teacher of the Tarmilat School where she provided us with a list of materials that would be helpful for the kids.
The list of materials was:
Books and stories for a kids library in school
Clothes
Notebooks and pencils
First aid kit
