In the past 4 months, a lot has went on in our senior project from many different aspects. In September, we went to Azrou Center for the weekend in order to make final decisions of what our goal was suppose to be. The purpose of that small trip was for us to communicate and find common grounds and interests to gather into a project that we could all work on. We have argued a lot during that meeting because there were main two blocks, ones wanting to base the project on research about Italy and others planning to work on refunding a local school. We came to the decision of joining both projects into one. Which means that we will gather knowledge about Italy and present it to the kids of the school we would refund, therefore fulfilling both tasks. Honestly what I really wanted since we came back to school was to take part of the Italy project. Researching and travelling to my dream country had always been something I wanted to do. But the fact that it was related to the school plan as well kind of brought down my motivation as that doesn't interest me. Due to this inconvenience, I didn't meet many of the requirements from the project including Thursday meetings, positive attitude, event organization etc… This lead me and my classmates to get into tensions and conflicts because since the beginning of school, i was going with the flow in terms of what was happening in the project and being passive. Although, this was until I was told to state my opinion loud and clear, and I realized that in order to fulfill my goals and duties in the course, I must be motivated which made me re-split the two blocks to get what I want. That is having the Italy plan on its own, this fueled me with motivation to work towards my new goal. But this is not to mention that nothing positive occured before this change. We made good progress in terms of fundraising for the Tarmilalt School, around 8000 dh. Moreover, we did a good job in spreading the world about our project and got decent donations. Last but not least the involvement in Tarmilalt had risen between the ASI senior class and the teachers as well as director of the school. Based on this old project, my expectations were that we would collect enough money just to fix the school infrastructure and materials. I was also expecting to make enough research about Italy in order to travel to it. I truly believe that both goals are realistic and can be accomplished by the end of the year, with enough hard work and dedication it will become a reality. Especially now that everyone is back on good terms, and no one is dragging down the others. In the few upcoming months, I am planning to research 3 main fields about Italy, those being the politics, culture and history of the nation through online resources. I will a presentation ready for one of the subjects monthly. I will also be organising preparing our trip in April from now, in terms of where we will travel in Italy, what monuments and streets we will visit there, what will be our means of accommodation and transportation etc… In my final presentation to ASI Community, I would like to say that what is most important is to do what you truly want and that you will eventually you will have enough fuel to get over the goals you set. I would also want to emphasize to the ASI community that communication and team is also an important step of the way and is vital to success. To wrap up everything I will also showcase them the short documentary I will be making about Italy as a product of my work for these upcoming 6 months as a whole. I will push as hard as I can to make, and I will now that I am satisfied with the state and atmosphere of this senior project class.
